SDT International S.A. organizes a series oftheoreticalandpractical training sessions to allow delegates tobecome"CertifiedOperator qualified for ultrasonic hatch covertightnesstestingwith the Class Type Approved Sherlog TA " in compliance with theIACSURZ.17. Practical details of the SDT-IMCS Training Program,whichisaccredited by the Nautical Institute, can be foundhereafter.
Training Program:
SDT International determines its training program in order tomeetasclosely as possible the industry's demand. Hence, thebelowlistedtraining course dates and locations are subjecttomodification anddepend on the number of theregisteredparticipants.

Venues:
For the comfort of the trainees, and in order toensurecompliancewith the accreditation standards, training courseswillbeorganized in hotels of good international standard.
Training Session Agenda:
The theoretical and practical on-board training was developedinaway to cover all the required topics under IACS UR Z17 asmuchaspossible, and yet to be concentrated in a 2 ½ daytrainingcourse.Therefore SDT has decided to forward, upon receiptof thetrainingfee, the complete syllabus of the training course bye-mailto eachregistered delegate. In addition to the trainingsyllabus,each ofthe delegates will also receive the wellillustrated "HatchCoverInspections" book, published by the NauticalInstitute in 2003atthe commencement of the training course. Thepurpose is toallowall candidates to become fully acquainted withthe manysubjectsand issues covered by the training course,preparethemselves forthe training and have relevant backgroundinformationat handduring the execution of their day-to-dayactivities.

Certification:
Upon completion of the complete course andexaminations,eachsuccessful participant will receive the"CertifiedOperatorqualified for ultrasonic hatch cover tightnesstesting withtheClass Type Approved Sherlog TA ". SDT Internationalissuesthiscertificate within the three weeks following the dateofthetraining course. The name and coordinates of thenewlyqualifiedoperators are added to the "List of CertifiedOperators".Theoperator's certificate is valid for 3 years and canbe renewedbysuccessful passing of an e-examination prior to theexpiry dateofthe operator's certificate.
Practical training details:
Participants to a training course will be advised aboutthetrainingcourse venue and useful practical details about 1weekbefore thetraining date.
Participants are required to bring the training coursesyllabustothe training.
Each participant who follows the complete 2 ½ daytrainingwillexercise and get trained on an individual Sherlog TA instrumentprovided bySDTInternational for the duration of the trainingsession.
Coffee breaks and luncheons during the training are includedinthetraining fees.
Transport to and from the vessel on board of whichthepracticaltraining is organized and is free of charge.
In order to comply with safety regulations duringthepracticaltraining session on-board, participants arekindlyrequested tobring along their helmet, overall, safety shoesandgloves.
Language:
Language of the training, syllabus, course documentationandthewritten examination is English. All trainees arethereforeexpectedto have a good working knowledge of the Englishlanguage.
Registration:
The complete 2 ½ day training session is organized for a minimumof7trainees and a maximum of 12 in order to guarantee anoptimalandefficient training.
All registration applications must preferably be enteredthreeweeksprior to training date, this in order to allowon-timeshipping ofthe training course material. Last minuteregistrationsareconsidered on a case-by-case basis.
Registrations are made on a first entered (and paid),firstbookedbasis.
SDT International, unless otherwise agreed, will onlyconsiderareservation as definite after receipt of the trainingfeepayment.For that purpose, participants are kindly requested tousetheTraining Registration Form.
Hotel Accommodation:
Participants are free to stay in a hotel of their ownchoice.Roomreservation is to be made by the delegates and is notincludedinthe training fee.
Travel Arrangements:
Venues are generally selected in centrally located areasthatcaneasily be reached by plane.

Training Session Cancellation:
SDT International reserves the right to cancel any ofthescheduledtraining courses. In that case the training sessionwillbere-programmed and the training fees fully reimbursedortransferredfor another training session at the request oftheparticipant.

This all-in fee includesrequiredtrainingequipment and material, individual ultrasonictrainingequipment Sherlog TA for each participant fortheduration of the trainingcourse, the training coursesyllabus"Generic Training Program for Service Suppliers EngagedinUltrasonic Tightness Testing", thebook "Hatch CoverInspections"(Nautical Institute), coffee breaks,luncheons and theissuing ofthe Certificate of Qualification.
